if i lifted my jimny using Procomp es3000 3", would the standard springs be any good? or would i need new springs?
and would i need to change any thing or alter any thing else for it to work?;ike brake lines etc?

any help would be great.

Dean,

I am afraid you have got the wrong idea about lifting. The shock absorbers do not lift the vehicle, its the springs that give the lift. Therefore if you keep the springs the same and put longer shock absorbers on all you will do is bottom out the shock absorbers.

TO lift 3" you will need longer springs, longer shock absorbers and longer brake lines. Also a 3" lift will put the caster out so you will probably need some form of correction, either through bushes or arms.

This all gets expensive.

For a cheaper lift you can go for a two inch body lift. As this separates the chassis and the body you do not have to repplace the running gear or correct any caster. You may have to put some sort of steering spacer in, move the brake pipe union and adjust the gearlever to stop it hitting the transmission tunnel.

Doing a proper suspension lift on a jimny is exspensive, but in my opinoin is the only way to do it.

its one of the things ive been putting off for so long, but as soon as exmas has past i will be doing the lift.

I have said this before but will say it again - I think the best value all in kit about at the moment is the Off Road Armory lift it with arms, springs, brake lines, shocks all included and if your gonna do it, you might aswell go for the biggie - the 4.5" lift. Just use some wheel spacers or offset rims to make it wider too though!

If I had the wonga it would be something I'd do now! I'll stick with me 3" lift though.

hmm.. i've heard and read about body lift. It will cause the front/rear bumper to drop, wouldn't it?

I've seen nice pictures (e.g. slingo's adverb)... the blue jimny was lifted and the front/rear bumpers are fitted nicely still. How is this done? Using proper lift-kits?

I want to lift my jimny using the body lift method, but am afraid that i will loose my front/rear bumper... hmmm :(

As you lift the body it leaves the bumper behind, creating a gap. I have not seen any kits that provide new brackets for the bumper but you would have to fabricate something I am afraid.
