Yeah but it's called escalation. You hit me, I take a bat to you, you take a knife to me and I shoot you. It solves nothing.

Of course I did not try to endorse such defensive measures, that is why I wrote "went too far" in the beginning of the story.

Just imagine the tragedy which would have happened if someone else apart from the thieves had opened the entrance door. For example, firefighters in case that the house caught fire for some reason.

The owner of the house is still in prison I think, and this happened about 10 years ago.

My comments were not aimed at specific individuals more to the general world at large.
