I want to improve off road grip but don’t want to sacrifice what on road comfort there is! What tyres do you cognoscenti advise please?

+1 for the Geolanders (GO12) Had them on Kates daily driver for 2 years and still look like new. Off road she can probly get
80% of the places I can with full muds.
