spung a leak was created by mattt

my front diff seems to be leaking ! only had a quick look seems to be wet on the top and there for all over mainly the front . this a common problem / easy fix ? or is it usually a garage job ?
be grateful for and guidance

Does the oil have a fairly pungent smell? Just seems odd leaking from the top. It could be something above that is dripping onto the diff rather than the actual diff leaking have a good look on the engine for signs of a failure.

good point fellas, does seem more like engine oil not stinky gear oil . i will open the bonnet and have a look later
(why is it always easier to think rationally when fixing someone else 's problem haha )

ok so there seems to be a pipe with black oil on it that runs under and across the the bottom of the rad . can't see where it comes up ? engine oil and transmission oil seem ok
side note last two pics , is the red pipe a breather kit so i can go in big puddles ? looks like something similar on rear as well
