Mostly down to the intake and exhaust design I suspect.

Excellent list.
I have one question, can the jimny gear/deffrential or clutch handle the increased power of the m18?
Am very interested in getting a jimny, I just hate regular visits to workshops.
Intended usage is desert off roading.

Ollie, is there much chance you'd be able to put that list back up, the original post is no longer showing

HI. Sorry I'm so late to the party. I joined this group to read the list, but where is the list?

Hi. It seems to be a victim of photobucket monetisation. The simple list is any engine from the same series as the factory motor will fit fairly easy eg factory m13vvt to donor m16vvt. It gets more complicated to switch to an m series from a g series but it does physically go in the bay. After that you can fit anything you want if you have the skills or deep enough pockets.

To give you an idea there's a link recently to a gen2 with a 13b rotary and for a while I entertained the idea of a 1uzfe but whilst it might have fitted getting the power to a suitable gearbox and axles wasn't the work of 5 minutes.
