I have looked around the internet and this site, but cant find a definitive answer, does the Swift GTi G13 engine fit into a Jimny (G13BB version)

What I know -

It fits into a SJ (I have done it)
The rear distributor cap needs moving and changing for a mazda one
Are the early Jimnys same as SJs (engine/gearbox wise)
Would the engine mounts mounts need moving?

I know a 1.6 (vitara) engine may be a better option in some peoples eyes, but I like the eagerness to rev of the Swift GTi engine, and I think it would suit the Jimny fitted with a rocklobster. These engines rev to 8K, and would sit at 4k all day.

I think you misunderstand why people fit the G16B to the Jimny. It is for the Torque increase which is at least 30% greater. The 25% increase in HP is great but being able to lug away from lower revs, go up and down hills in top gear on highways, tow caravans. Then there is the off-road advantage that pulling low gear with increased torque gives to you. Also, the G16B is a doddle to fit. Even if you take one from a Baleno, as I did, the adaptor kit is cheap as ($225AUD) and includes the engine mount and all other bits required to turn an east-west engine into a north-south engine.

But, I do like the look of that engine

It would fit but would need a lot of wiring mods and a custom exhaust manifold as well as a modification to the distributor drive. All that effort will give 100bhp with very little low end torque. The G16B is 95bhp with loads of bottom end torque.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.
