hi! i am new at this! i am from Costa Rica so my english its not perfect :laugh: , i just bought a suzki jimny 2011, it has the stock tires dunlop 205 70 15. i want a more agressive tire, 215 75 15 MT tire will be my choice, but i am a worried that the loss of power will be a lot, and also my fuel consumption will increase. i will really apreciate your help! also my jimny its full stock
The speedometer and odometer will under-read by ~7%, so it will seem about 7% slower and fuel consumption will seem 7% worse. But the actual difference in either is very small. They are a great choice of tyre for a standard Jimny!
thanks for the help! the gearing will also be affected right? shifting down more often? my jimny does around 12.5km/liter stock with the 215 75 15 how much will it change? :S
There is a small difference to gearing yes, but not too bad. You won't have to change down gears very often. Your fuel economy will only change a tiny amount, just remember to factor in the reduced odometer reading when you work it out!
thank Busta for the help! with odometer,it will show -7% right from the real distance, so that means that if i drive 100km the real distance will be 100km plus 7%?
also some people say that 215 75 15 tires doesnt fit well with the front bumper, i will have to trim or cut the bumper?
