1910 cc, 150 bhp, 320 nm torque, 130+ mph, 50+ mpg.
I think the transmission would need beefing up a bit.
Great engine, also fitted to Zafiras, just a shame about everything bolted to it though (see Dual mass flywheel woes, an £800 bill after just 57k) but I dont think id cope with a similar performance in the Jim, anything over 70 is a white knuckle ride

You have one single unhappy person, And you let that deside whether or not to buy a Diesel Jimny. Remember this engine is installed i probably millions of cars, with lots of happy drivers out there.

150 kg Heavier than a petrol instantly removes the Jimny Advantage and with all that extra weight over the front axle means very poor weight distribution, and then add to that a 40 kg winch on the nose!!
Poor grip to the rear wheels due to the weight on the front doesn't sound too good to me on the UKs wet roads
MPG being not much better than the petrol Jim
And yes, the almost unbreakable rev happy 1.3 petrol compared to the comparativly fragile Diesel.
Enough Said
Oh and TomDK, the Isuzu 1.7 td has to be one of the best Diesel engines ever made, I had one in an Astra that even at 164k (miles) didnt use a drop of oil and felt like it would be happy to do another 164k, I drive a 1.9TD VW and a 1.9 150PS Fiat engined VX and they just dont compare
