Thanks Martin, fortunately the bolts holding the leading arms to the chassis mounts were tight but i will double check for any wear that might have occurred with the other bolts being loose.

I was having a look at the axle setup and those chassis mounts must experience some massive forces.

hi Gromit, just got back and enjoying a cold one. We went down from Stalling Busk to Marsett, we almost didn't do it because Semerwater was really flooded back up the valley but in the end the ford wasn't too bad B) . The only ford we didn't cross was near Marske, we did the one at Helwith Bridge (not ribblesdale!) but bailed out of the one at Goats Bridge which ended up adding a lot of tarmac and time onto the route unfortunatley :(

Turns out the brand new panhard rod bushes I got from KAP are rubbish (or knackered after 2 months and 600 miles  ). I have put my standard panhard rod back on the front and the car now handles better than it ever has done with absolutley no wheel wobble and much sharper steering with less bump steer B). I did also identify, while looking for the cause of the wobble, that the 4 bolts holding the front axle to the radius arms were loose (1 bolt could even be undone by hand  ), so I have tightened them all up. I'm greenlaning tomorrow so the car should handle much better now all that is sorted.

Think I'll be giving KAP a call tomorrow to see what the crack is. Annoying when you buy new, bespoke parts at great expense and its actually caused you problems, then put the original item back and problem is solved. Oh well, a lesson learnt and for anyone else with wheel wobble, check your panhard rod bushes (not just that the bolts are tight, my bolts were very tight and there was still loads of play at both ends) ;) .

OK so I spoke to KAP and they said that they have had a few complaints with the recent batch of panhard rod bushes supplied. Apparently the metal collars are to long so no matter how hard you tighten the bolts, the actual bushes dont get squashed and are as much use as a chocolate fire guard. Anyways, I have removed the collars, cut about 7mm off each one, put them back in the bush, fitted the panhards back to the car and problem solved :) .
