The light could be on for any number of reasons. I take it the light that is on is the yellow engine management light?
There may be a present trouble code stored in the ECU. If it was present you would expect to see some sort of fault whilst driving the truck. There are several trouble codes that will keep the light on even if they are not present. These are usually fuel/exhaust related (eg o2 sensors).
You could really do with getting hold of someone with a fault code reader to see what the exact code is then someone on here will probably be able to give you an idea of what component has failed.
Thanks buddy, i dont have anyway to check the codes, so will have to either get someone to do it for me, or stick a bit of black tape over the light :laugh:
