I don;t know if anyone on here has messed about with fuel tanks to now the answer to this, but I know that Darren at KAP will tell you the answer or Rhinoray.
Have you tried some of that stuff you put in your tank that seals it? I quite often see it advertised in magazines.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

I bet your tank is leaking from the same place that mine was: the filler hose spigot on the tank.
Due to the usual clever design mud lies on top of the filler pipe, creeps between the rubber pipe and the spigot, and rusts through it.
I fixed mine with that liquid metal stuff that isopon do for mending leaking fuel tanks.
Took ages though, the rubber filler pipe has to come off, and the only way to do that is to cut through the screw in the wire clip that secures the pipe.
I didn't fancy changing the tank, the fuel pump has to come out of the top, and you need some sort of special tool to disconnect the fuel hoses, disturbing them will no doubt set them off leaking..........

I had my fuel tank of the other week, came off easy, but i can access everthing from the top, as i dont have a rear end on my jimny,
you have to unbolt and remove the rear propshaft to drop the tank out,
there bolts either side of the tank (14mm) that hold the tank onto the chassi,
the fuel pipes are just clipped on to the top of the pump, there is a little bit you have to push in on either side of the clip to release it, this was even a hassle when i was doing it, with easy access!
