I believe the Jimny has 3 ... one on each Diff, and one on top of the gearbox (which is usually missed).
were not too worried about the gearbox breather as its not that often that our jimny gets completely immersed .. usually its just the axels

Cheers mate. I'll have a good look round for the gearbox breather tomorrow after work.ooky_123 wrote: I believe the Jimny has 3 ... one on each Diff, and one on top of the gearbox (which is usually missed).

I think there is one on the transfer box too. It needs to be able to breath I think or as the oil and air in it get hot and expand it will blow out the oil seals and cause those to leak.
I've stowed my old one away now so it's difficult to check and my Rocklobster came with it's own one already.
Like Jason, I've not bothered with the gearbox because it's a faff to do and I never go into water that deep. I have not fitted a snorkel on purpose as I want to avoid water like that - it just makes me spend more time in the garage pulling it apart to re-grease bearings and changing oils!

To get a good look around the top of the gearbox, remove the gearstick gator (center console and 4 screws)

ahh that would be the one I was thinking about ... best access is though the top .... I thought that was the gearbox ... not the transfer box... I stand corrected (and bow to the fact you have actually taken your transmission out so know what your talking about !!)
