Brake compensator was created by rhys15
The brake compensator spring on my jimny has broken, can i run it for a few days without it while the new one arrives will it be ok, and also can any on explain how it actualy works

The harder you brake, the more the weight shifts forward and the back will rise upwards. This spring acts on a valve that restricts the amount of brake pressure sent to the rear wheels to minimise lock up.
If the spring is broken then you find under hard braking the rears might lock up more easily. If I were you I would wait for the spring to arrive.

It adjusts the rear brake pressure depending on the load. The heavier the load the more compressed the rear springs and the slacker the compensator spring which means the brakes can come on harder. Therefore when broken the brakes will work as if the load is heavy and come on harder, locking up the rear wheels
