Vitara front brake upgrade

I've heard that it's possible to fit Vitara front brakes and vented discs to the Jimny.

Anyone got details of this mod?

What parts are required?

Which model Vitara would I get the parts from?

Ta.

If I recall correcty then all vitara front brake parts fit jimnys. The exception being the Vitara with the vented discs, but even these fit if you change everything at one.

I could be wrong, but this is how I remember it

It's the vented ones I'm after. I've already warped one pair of discs and well on the way to warping another pair. Need something that will stand up to my thinking the Jimny is a racecar.

Which Vitaras had vented discs?

I'm not too sure I'd want too much more braking in the wet with mud terrains on - it's easy enough to lock up my fronts in the wet now, let alone with stronger brakes!!!

Any more details on this?

I have 29inch tyres and my breaks are really not great at all.

I would really like the vitara disc's and calipers as they are larger. Does anyone know which year and model will fit?

I think it's the GV XL7 V6 that has the vented discs and calipers. I had a garage phone up the other week with a Jimny that they kept getting the "wrong" parts sent through for. Turned out it had vented disks and larger calipers fitted. I sorted some GV parts for them.

Hi Mlines
I have a 2000 model with the G motor, does the vitara calipers fit the jimny brackets or does an adapter plate need to be made and does the master cylinder need to be upgraded?
Thanks Neil
