Carpet out and chuck it on the radiator I reckon. Then dry the floor with towels to get the worst of it up. Then run it with heaters on full aimed at floor with the window open for a bit, or if your gonna use it then everytime your outt in It crack the heaters on.

I've got one of the dehumidifier bag things like Alex mentioned, they don't work miracles but do prevent it steaming up a bit. Might be worth looking into after you've dried the worst of it out.

If it was actually a foot deep inside the cab (must be nearly to the glove box) id be takimg everything out, door cards side trim etc as water may get behind the plastic!seats and carpet will take the longest, having no carpet for a short time aint an issue but no seat means no driving so wet vac the seats to get them to dry faster as itll suck most of the water out. You can probably rent a decent wet vac/carpet cleaning machine for not to much money.

Water was level to the top part of carpet before gearstick

I do over exaggerate sometimes lol

Could I leave the carpets out completely and have the rubber car mats down or is this a bad idea ?
Or will I just keep getting misted up everytime metal gets wet?

I would have thought the carpets do a fair bit in the way of sound deadening, might notice its noisier without them. Wouldn't have thought it would make too much difference in the way of misting up, surely it's the carpet that holds the moisture in the first place.
