Thanks for that,
I'm guessing I can buy this from the stealers without the obligation of them fitting it, or is there a place that forum members use to get parts at discount? I suppose it's only £40 ish.
I Plan on doing this next week when it cools down a bit out there!

My 2002 Jimny has this problem of cutting out. The engine warning light and padlock keys indicators come on. Once we’ve safely pulled over and restart the engine it works and drives normally.
Local garage can’t work out what is the fault as no codes come up. The mechanic says that if it is the camshaft/crank shaft sensors it would not restart immediately. We have not needed to ‘cool’ them. Same he says if the fuel filter was blocked as it would not start straight away either.
If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.

If it gives up at idle it is more likely the idle speed control valve.
Sometimes they will restart after a few seconds without cooling with water.
I think the padlock comes on when the engine is stopped normally.
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Change the crank sensor anyway, it is usually the crank sensor if it cuts out at speed, and a new one is cheap. My 2002 Jimny has this problem of cutting out.
