alloy troubles was created by puddletruck
Hi everyone.Got my jimny a few weeks ago and joined bigjimny for interest and help.I learnt that Daihatsu alloys would fit my jimny and purchased some.Now the trouble is the studs on my jimny are approximately 2" long which was fine for steel wheels but the alloys are 2" thick.This obviously means that I carnt get the nuts on.Also the alloys have a flat face where studs go and not angled AND the studs are 12mm thread and the alloy diameter must be 16mm.
So can anyone give me advice to what I can do to get them to fit or shall I just sell them.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Easiest to sell them. (but I'm getting old and really can't be bothered faffing about
)
You can get some nuts if you search around- mrtee.co.uk likely has them, if not, you can get some made up, but you won't get much change from £40 a set, which makes cheap wheels quite expensive.

Actually you need to check the diameter of the locating hole against the hub on the jimny, if it isn't the same, you need hub rings too.
Alloys with flat holes locate on the central hub ring (they usually seize onto the hub quite nicely too) Then you need a shouldered nut with a flat washer- mrtee calls them a sleeve nut. Without the correct hub ring the wheels will run ouut of centre.
