Thinking of building my first Jimny.....? was created by Amos
HI Guys and Girls, this is my first post, so HELLO....!!!!!
I have owned a standard one before, and loved driving it, but this time I want to go a bit different.....!
SO, what tyres are best for lanes and fields, nothing to big and bold, and I don't want to have to trim bits.....?
What lift kit can I go, without changing brake lines etc......?
If I go 2" springs, is this enough, or is 2" body on top a good move....?
Also, do they make rear side window covers, so I can remove side glass, and make into a mini van.....?

Hello,good evening and welcome!
If you go for 195 80 15's, no lift or cutting of arch's required.
Lift wise, what about 2" spring spacers and shocker extentions?
Take ya seats out and black windows out>>>simples!
I personally dont like big fat tyres, perfere skinny tyres as they bite through the mud to more solid ground, only my opinion though!

And what happens if you drive in mud deeper than height of tyres? Then you're pretty quickly stuck on the axles.

As the man says in original text 'lanes and fields', not serious heavy offroading i would presume.
I off roaded for 5 years and built my own Dakar and greenlaning with big tyres in mud found to have a lot of slippage as tyres did not bite through (unless you have aggressive tyres and then you suffer on road) skinnier tyres did the job though. Also found big tyres screwed around with ratio's as well, in other words your low box becomes a not so low box! All depends on what you want, how much you have to spend and how much you are prepared to effect the drivability on road.
