G13BB hardtop into softop - Cylinder block *ONLY* was created by discotroll
Hi -
When my no. 3 piston let go the other week it left some scoring to the cylinder bore so I'm looking at swapping the engine out. I've got a spare Hardtop engine block here which is in good condition so apart from swapping over all of the bits from the original soft top engine (e.g. sump, cylinder head, cam shaft, etc) and drilling a hole for the cam sensor at the bottom, is there anything else I need to do to use this block in my soft top Jimny?
As I said, it is purely the block itself that I'll be using from the hardtop.
Thanks,
DT.

Sump, hole 18mm for crank sensor 5mm tapped to 6mm for the retaining screw.
You've covered all the rest apart from the bottom inner crank shaft pulley needs to be swapped too for the crank sensor to read.
Enjoy

Thanks for the info - though I can't repay you with cylinderhead and cam as they were taken by the previous owner as those were the only bits he needed, leaving the block and ancilaries for me to get my dirty little paws on....
