Probably battery fooked
If you have a multimeter test the battery then test it with car running (13+v at least with it running)
If you get low v with car running thats your alternator

A car should run once started even if the battery is flat or removed as the alternator would run your car

Either charge the battery with a charger or leave your jump battery connected and run the car for a while a altenator requires a exciter voltage to make it work in other words it need a 12volt feed if it is that flat and you remove the jump leads it will not get that voltage and will not charge unlike a dynamo that can charge a battery from stone flat

I need an "exciter voltage" to get me going as well. I'll get the wife to give it a try. Fingers crossed.
