brake pads and shoes

Firstly what are good makes of pads and shoes?
I can change front pads no problem but id like to do the rear aswel, is it an easy job? Has anyone got a link an some photos to help me?

Personally as i was offroading and the trucks quite light anyway i just put the cheapest pads in - usually Apec from my local factors. I never had any trouble from them, lasted as long as any pads ive used.

I use mole grips to get the spring back on, levering it against the hub. Its the hardest part of the job, keeping it all together and pulling the spring across. I had a few rapped knuckles..... :pinch:

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

Someone else said the same earlier about the molegrips and yes i think im going to go for the apec pads, cheers bud.

Another tip: Take a few close up pictures of it or do a side at a time, common sense but i removed both shafts to do the bearings and replaced shoes too, i took pictures beforehand and i was glad i did as i put the adjuster the wrong way round so had no hand brake still. :blush:
