Swivel Joint ball was created by jimnyonhigh
Hi guys i am totaly at a lost!

Had a new halfshaft fitted the other week at a local garrage as there was small groves in the old halfshaft so the small axel seal did not sit right which caused oil to seep through to the swivel ball, none dripped on the tyre but it just built up around the ball.
After having the new halfshaft and new oil seal fitted i took the car out for a 20 mile drive and when i got back i noticed some grease around the swivel ball, again it was not dripping or hitting the tyre or making a complete mess, but it is vissable in small amount.
Is this normal after fresh repacking of the grease and its just the high temps making it seep through ?
Will this go after a few days ?
My kingpins, wheel bearings and everything is fine but i am slightly worried that there is grease around the ball only after a short drive.
if i leave the car on the drive and clean the ball slightly, there will be no slight grease until i go for a drive again and park up to check.
Im only using the car in 2WD normal at the min, i have enaged 4X4 to test but only on the drive. The car feels great and theres no engine problems or steering issues.

As you said the groves arnt letting you get a good seal , they were probably caused by were
Either live with it and keep checking fluid level or replace the worn shaft

Hi Reaper

A new halfshaft was fitted as with a new axel seal, i was shown the dents, groves on the halfshaft where the small seal sit and i could see how the oil could seep as there was a slight gap where the seal did not flit flush.

Now a new halfshaft and seal is fitted im just a bit worries why its starting to do it all over again but only after a short drive, park up check under the car and theres some grease, not a lot just sitting on the swivel ball.
This only happens after a drive and not while the car is sitting on the drive.
I think im more concerned when the car goes in for the MOT

Was a new seal onto the swivel ball fitted? I wouldn't worry too much about a little grease its axle oil you don't want.

Is the garage used to working on Landrovers?, they didn't fill the hub with grease/oil did they?(they shouldn't on a Suzuki)

Here is two pics, one while the car was stationary and the other after a short drive.
There are water splats around the swivel ball as the heavens opened, but you can see the grease forming around the ball.
unfortunately the garage that did the work is now closed, i have sent them a email regarding what you said about packing the hubs with grease, i will find out in the next few days if this was the case.
In the mean time is there any complications if the hubs were packed with grease ? the car drives fine and no issues at this moment in time.
