Hi guys,
have picked myself up a jimny which has done 60,000km . Just wondering whether the hubs axles or driveshafts etc need greasing and where and how i do it.
Am looking to do the transfer and diff oils at the same time.
Cheers!

The Uni's as supplied don't need greasing but they may have been changed (like mine) for greasable ones so you will have to pop under and check. My originals seized up so that is why I changed them to greasables and I grease after any water event. They seem to be lasting forever.
When you change the diff oils check to see if any water has entered. The oil uwill have gone milky if water has mixed. Most of us fit tubing to the diff breathers by knocking the caps off and run the tubing up high into the engine bay so that no water enters the diffs.

There is a grease nipple on the props which greases the sliders of the props.
Then it is just changing all the transmission fluids as said above. Note the gearbox uses different fluid to the diffs and transfer box.

Yep have changed the diff and transfer oils so far.
I cant see any grease nipples on the drive shafts but there is a rubber boot joining one of them with plenty of grease inside.
Wha about the hubs, like the cv or nuckle joints ?

Order a kit to do the swivel (kingpin) bearings. (try the shop here)
Repack the CVs with grease at the same time.
(The swivel bearings always need changing, every couple of months, but most of us put them off for a couple of years between sets.
)
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Is this a common problem that the kingpin bearings wear quickly or is it only under alot of offroad use?
