Warrior winch vs warn winch was created by jimnydms
Any feedback on warrior winch C9500 short drum ? Alot cheaper than warn bit it's not a warn so is it any good in the long term ?? All parts available (at the moment) if the warrior breaks however warn tabor 8k (other one im looking at) is a "disposable winch" and cannot sauce parts if it breaks ?
Any thoughts ?

goodwinch goldfish tds 9.5c is a good waterproof winch -much better than a Warn Tabor
at the cheaper end have a look at a Winchmax
which ever winch you get invest in a plasma rope rather than a steel cable for safer operation

There's quality winches from Warn and there's chinese winches from Warn
Avoid the Chinese ones and buy a Goodwinch TDS instead. Also made in China as most other winches in this price range, but superior to most other in that pricerange, including Warn.
If you want a fast, great quality, low mount winch go for Warn XP, if too expensive go for TDS 9.5c. I personally would avoid the really cheap winchmax and similar ones. They may be okay winches but are stupidly slow and average quality.
Another great thing about the TDS winch is that there's a good load of accessories to put on. Bigger drum. Air-oprated free-spool drum. Bigger motor 5.6 or 6.8 hp

Thank you for the replies I have also done more digging and alot of people are saying to stay clear of tabor as they are a very cheap china version with warn stamped on the front. I was going for the
but struggling with the costs once a plasma rope is fitted etc so will def look at TDS also worried about the excess weight over the front bumper and winch has to be an additional 50+kg easily. Warrior do a short drum version you have 15m of synthetic rope but it is 15kg lighter. I know warrior used to be champion also the military have used them for years anyone had any feedback on the warrior samurai range ?? I will put a link up in a bit
Cheers

The Warrior Samurai winch may have a faster gear ratio than many other winches. But the data is quite similar to the TDS winch. In fact, the TDS winch is faster at full load.
I'd still go for the Goodwinch TDS.
Or even better, find a used Warn 8274 on Devon4x4.com. They pop up from time to time
