Hi Everybody,

This may be a silly question, but has anybody tried to access the generator pivot bolts under the generator?

I can reach the adjusting bolt, but I can't even see the generator pivot bolts, never mind getting a spanner on them.

I've looked from the top and from underneath but no joy.

I only want to ajust the belt tension.

Do I need to start dismantling anthing to get access?

Suggestions apreciated.

14mm bolt accessed from underneath. Socket and bar needed. Try loosening the top bolt first you may get enough movement on the generator without undoing the lower bolt if it has been done before.

Gold Jimny the best colour (sold) :(

Big red Jimny 32" tyres, arbs, cage 5:1 transfer etc. (Sold)

Grey pick up Jimny
Turbo m13a, arbs, floating rear shafts, disc conversion rear, vented front conversion. 245 70 16. Winch, 3" lift, 4:16 trans hd shafts and CVS

Thank you for the response.

Is it just one 14mm bolt underneath?

Is the bolt vertical or horizontal?

I did try moving the generator with only the top bolt loosened but no joy.

I need to try to identify the bolt with a mirror on a stick.

Another old post suggests that the lower bolt needs an allen key and the radiator removed, but it maybe not for my specific engine.
