Towball Electrics was created by Nanteos
Ive been following the instructions given in Bigjimny, How To, guide and I'm now ready to make the electrical connections. My Jimny is a 2008 and some of the wires in the car are different colours. I dont have a red/green stripe, but I do have a red/yellow stripe, and I dont have yellow/green stripe but I do have green/yellow stripe. Does anyone have the correct colours for my year? And I see there is no mention of an earth return connection, so do I rely on the towhitch metal to metal?
Thanks for any guidance here boys.

Just remove the rear lights and see where each wire goes and note the colours.
The other option is to get a multimeter or voltage/continuity tester.
Just take the white earth(3) to any suitable earth point on the vehicle body.eg an existing bolt or screw where the tow bar wires are connected or if there is a suitable small hole use a bolt and star type washers to get a good earth through the paint.

I started off high and worked my way down ever since :-)

Thanks for that, will do, and the earth thing is so simple it should have been obvious to me. I see the side lights are bunched in the example, are they better separate?

Not quite sure what you mean by bunched? Do you mean all the wires /scotch clips seem to be together?? If so this is only due to the length of tow bar wiring you have available. You could strip the towbar wire outer and vary the length to stagger the connections but it doesn't matter it just makes it easier.
When you have noted the colours post them on the site as the guides are mainly for the older cars and could do with updating.
Mines a 2008 as well but came with a towbar anyway.
On my old 1998 Jimny I connected in through the upper rear lights. It's a bit tight but it can be done but I had to run some other wires under the bumper to connect/extend the wiring not covered in the upper light loom.

What I meant was, using just one supply wire from the jimny to power both side lights, instead of a separate supply for each, there are separate wires for each in the 7 wire cable. Will post colours when Ive done.
Cheers

Ah I reread it and I see what you mean.
I don't think it matters technically but the idea is that you will have some lights left if you have a failure using the all the wires. If they are all there in the loom when you find out the colours use the 7 wires.
I think I did something similar when I did my old Jimny as it was easier than wiring individually.
All I'll say is check it all works before you put the panels/seats back in.lol
