Moving Fusebox was created by Smoggy
Recently I have ground out my old rotted battery tray and welded in a new slightly bigger replacement. This meant that I had to drag my fusebox across towards the engine block slightly. Now with my car being an X-plate and getting on a bit (like me :)) when I moved it, some of the wiring entering the underside of the fusebox was so corroded it seperated from the plugged in spade terminals :(

This has lead me to contemplate moving the box into the car. Now, being an electrician, the concept of altering wiring doesn't phase me (no pun intended) but I would be interested in how people that have done this have found it. Also am I stating the obvious but is it not a big advantage if driving through deep water to have the electrics more protected.

if it was already half out i'd move into say the glove box or somewhere similar, i'm using the back of my glove box as a switch pannel, wired my spot lights switch in there going to mount my winch switch in there come christmas,

but then again i've had my bonnet underwwater a couple of times in local fords and had no problems at all, and to be honest smoggy your going to find some preety deep water to get your fuse box underwater, i tell you now i wont be following you into it!
