Hey,
this is my first post in this forum, so hi all
i see alot of posts here about swap engines from m13a to m16a, i read alot and it is also my wish.
i live in israel, we follow by European law in car licensing.
because there is now car industry here and not car labs to approve this change there is alot of obstacles and almost not possible.
but after all in most of cases EU labs as TUV acceptable here (case of responsibility)
i would like to know how can you do this change (bureaucracy), if there is some document that permit this change, and some other details athat explain hot it workd in your country.
thanks
good day all

Hi and welcome to the forum.
In the UK (which a lot of the people on here are from) its very simple to change the engine, it doesn't need checking afterwards you just need to let the authorities know you have done it. As long as the new engine meets the emissions standards of the original engine and is installed safely when the car has its yearly check (MOT) then all is good.
I think the rules are different in the rest of the EU though...

After you have swapped the engine you need to inform the authorities of the different engine and I think the engine serial number which is stamped on the block. You should then get an updated registration document from them (called a V5)
