engine doesnt seem to burn any oil, head gasket has been replaced recently.

well if you took it to a good garage thay should have replaced then but it also could be the valve guides no point in putting seal on if the guides are shot also to replace the seal the head would need to come off again

A little blue smoke on start up is no great shakes - my old SJ used to do it all the time, not just on start up, and that was fine. I take it yours has done a fair few miles?

Just keep an eye on the oil level and enjoy.

Otherwise I take it your not talking about condensation from the exhaust now it's got colder?

My Jimny puffs out a little blue smoke at start-up. This ceases after about 10 seconds. This motor is 413,300 kilometres old and runs brilliantly so I wouldn't worry about it. Never had the head off and still averaging around the 7l/100k's. The motors are bullet-proof.
