Oops rear shock problem! was created by Smoggy
Just fitted new ORA HD trailing arm to rear axle location brackets then fitted my rear shock guards I got from jimnybits. All is okay on the drivers side but on the passenger side the panhard mount reduces the working angle of my shock relocation bracket and forces it in over. Any ideas how I can overcome this problem ( it may not necessarily be a problem due to the rear shockers normally canting in over anyway ) I will find out for sure when I refit the rear axle. Perhaps an ORA adjustable shocker bracket might be one answer as I was thinking of getting one anyway.
What do you guys think?
Some pics to show you what I mean:

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Wait and see if there is a problem when it is fitted.
You can grind away and thin down the head of the bolt to get a bit less angle, as you are going to have to remove the bracket anyway to change the shock absorber.
At least the shock bracket comes off.
A longer shock bracket would be ideal, and let the shock bolt come out.
I wouldn't start notching and welding plates on the inside of the panhard mount (the other alternative).

Yeah the notching/welding scenario did cross my mind, and I did shy away from it. Think we'll see what tomorrow brings when it goes back on.

I don't know what those ORA trailing arms to rear axle brackets are supposed to be for, but while you're at it, why not just make needed modifications to get the shock mounts to correct angle so you wouldn't need those relocation brackets anymore?

The uprated brackets are 'just in case', originals are a bit of a weak point on jimny (Martin Lines ripped his originals clean off the axle!) and relocation brackets are easier than messing about fabricating something to ensure free shock travel. Though I suppose if necessary I could maybe fab something up (not my strong point though). For sixty odd quid it would be easier to buy a top relocation bracket from ORA

Maybe its the angle the pics are taken from but to me the panhard bracket looks to far out , thus hitting the lower shock relocation bracket , also with it like that wont it pass in the space where your shocks will be ?
