Dash switches was created by Jimnyash
Quick question:

Do the switches on the dash come out from the front of the dash with a little persuasion from a screwdriver (A/C blank plug, hazard etc) or are the only releasable from the rear?

Thanks.

I know the blank ones will come out from the front, just stick a flathead in the side. Im guessing the others will be the same

The blank ones come out with a flat head screwdriver in the bottom side, just like Skinhead said.

The others DON'T behave in the same way, unfortunately (I assume you're talking about the switches above the mirror adjustment buttons, used for fog lamps and such). They're very long switches (much longer than a Daystar for example) and have two clamps which expand behind the plastic to keep them in place.

The only way I managed to get them out was to remove one blank switch and stick a finger in there in order to push down on one of the clamps, then you can gently pry it out with the same flat screwdriver. It'd be probably easier to use an L-shaped piece of metal to push on the clamps, I almost broke two fingers trying to get the damn switches out. It'd be much easier to go from under the dash and push them out, but I can't get my hand in there.

Thanks guys.

The main one I need access to is the Hazard switch. I'd prefere not having to remove half the dash to get to it if I can help it!!

I think I need to get to one of the cables running from the back of it.

The AC blank is just a bonus for an LED installation.

The hazard switch is easy to get to.

First, remove the ashtray and cigarette lighter. In the ashtray space, you have a metal plate which is held in place by three screws: two right at the edge and one in the back. Remove them and drop the metal plate (watch out not to lose the two metal "nuts" affixed to the plastic, they are needed to catch the screws).

Then, you have to take out the rim of the center console. It is held in place by six yellow plastic clips, so just start gently removing it from the bottom and pulling it towards you. Some of the yellow clips will remain on the plastic fascia, some will remain in the dash. Then just unplug the hazard switch and that's it.
