NO-ABS BEARING RETAINER ON ABS JIMNY was created by Cocopolo
I'am changing for the ... maybe 4th time in 7 years ... the rear wheel bearings of my jimny

I noticed that the non-abs kit is much cheaper than the abs kit ... but the halfshaft, bearing and oil seal are the same ...

my question is : can i put the non-abs bearing retainer on my abs jimny? I don't care of have the abs working, but i'm afraid that something else won't work ...

Yes it will fit, bur the ABS light will be on all the time, the ABS won't work, in the UK you won't get an MOT, and you will probably lock up a wheel too easily in the wet*.

Apart from that, it is fine

*usually, ABS vehicles put more braking effort to the front, knowing that the abs will kick in and save the day. The non-abs jimny has a rear brake regulator valve linked to the suspension to stop the rears locking when there is no weight in the back. This won't be needed with ABS.

You can likely press the old ABS ring off and reuse it if you are careful, the cog sticks well out for tool purchase, you will need to make something to spread the load over the teeth though.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
