jimny lift question was created by dougies_tx5turbo
I'll quickly introduce myself, i'm Doug, from Australia and i'm new to jimny's and new to this site.
I have a 2005 jimny vvt.
I'm looking to set my car up for touring, beach work and moderate off road tracks.
The car will have a 2 year old in it, i'm looking to do some type of suspension but i have been reading that most of the suspension lifts are a firm ride but i don't want a firm ride. I'm not looking at putting a big lift in i just want to clear my 215's with ease.
Mods I've done so far are 215 75 15 km2
Now to my questions,
Q1. Should I replace the whole suspension with a 2" lift?
Q2. Or use should i use the standard springs with some spacers and some good shocks?
Opinions on answers would be much appreciated
Thanks Doug

if you don't plan any serious off road escapades i would leave the suspension at the standard height. lifting brings along all sorts of little issues. a small body lift would give more clearance over the tyres. suspension lifts ( not body lifts ) to some degree put extra strain on the transmission and alter the castor angle , which can affect steering. the ride over rough terrain with a 2 year old on a lifted jim would not be pleasant for the kid

Thanks

You can do a body lift with airbags unless your local regulations in Australia do not permit it.
In fact, you need someone from Oz to reply to you (there are quite a few on here) as the products available and the rules around them are very different.
