Removing steering box? was created by Smoggy
I need to get the steering box into my vice to remove the pitman arm, but im not sure how to disconnect the high pressure hose assembly from the car. The hose connections appear to be some kind of special fitting linking the flexi pipe to the solid pipe sections.
Is there an easy method for doing this please?

remove the rad just to get more room then just undo the bolt that goes through the thick pipe on the right as you look down on it and the other on just take the hose clip off and pull the pipe off

Yeah sorted that just like you said Mark.
Next big task was to get the pitman arm bolt off, ready for the new drop arm to go with my lift. Got the really tight bolt off with easing oil, heat and the help of my windy gun - eventuallly.
Then I found the pitman arm was welded onto the box splines, despite heat and easing oil and the help of my slide hammer attached to a puller it still wouldnt budge
So ive left it overnight steeped in plusgas.

Are you re-using the pitman? try welding all around it on round part of the pitman that has the splines on the inside, then when its real hot try smacking it off
