I would much rather have a snorkel and never realy need it then not have a snorkel and destroy my engine because i didnt have it! As dirtydogz says, just look at how many shinny Landrovers have them and you can bet as much money as you like that they will never see much more than a muddy puddle on a farm track, if that  . Lets face it, we all know they look cool and at least the Jimny is a car that deserves one.

Still havnt got mine yet :(

There's just one difference between a Defender and a Jimny.

No matter how big tyres or how much offroad equipment you put on a Jimny, it's never ever gonna look real manly.

On a defender, put on some 35" tyres and a suspension lift and I looks pretty buff.

But still, I love the little Jimny. But not because it makes me feel more man B)

And I know some of you now says that you don't need a car/truck to make you feel more man. but I think you get my point :P

Your right there Tom. People in Defenders tend to give a look of "my cars far bigger and has Landrover badges on it therefore its superior". Its when you dounce past them when they are sat at the side of the road because something else has gone wrong with it that i tend to fell the superior

Iam no hard core offroader but at least i have got the Jimny covered in mud, got stuck (too many times ) , scratched the paint and brocken bits on it and i can hold my head up high and say i have actualy used my car for what its intended to do . Off course there are loads and loads of people who use Defenders off road but in my neck of the woods there are far to many wannabie off roaders and seeing as i would rather like a Defender if i had the moeny its just not fair  .

These Defender owners you mention, we have them here in Denmark as well. Having clean, pretty Defender's with 35" M/T tyres and a never-used winch up front.. Oh - and of course a Safari snorkel
