Hi all, just changed the knigpins on both sides of my 2001 jimny, my question is on the passenger side the ball bearings in the half shaft were held in place with a collar but on the drivers side when I pulled out the 1/2 shaft they ballbearings fell out, I put it back together and it seems the ball bearings are held in just by the shaft pulling against them. Is this normal or do I need a new 1/2 shaft for the drivers side? Thanks (sorry for the not so technical lingo!)
Sounds like the front wheel bearing has collapsed. You need a new front wheel bearing (unless its the CV joint you are talking about - in which case you need a new CV joint)
Can you describe the part a bit better or post a picture

Thanks for your reply, I had a look at the how to guide and it is the cv joint that has gone, Ive only recently brought it and its not been looked after. when I changed the kingpins the old ones had been ripped apart in the nuckle so that exlains it. going to get a new wheelbearing in there when u have stock again, but my big question is does anyone have a cv joint for sale or know where I can but one? thanks
