TYRE PRESSURES - 235/75-15 TYRES? What you run at? was created by apfriend
Hi,
I have some off-road 235/75-15's tyres on my jimny (it came with them)
Primarily I will be using it for work and around town until i get a chance to use it off-road.
Question is: What tyre pressures for town driving on these tyres?
Off-road I was thinking around: 16 PSI ???
On-road: 20-25 PSI ???
Thanks!

The pressures you suggest seem reasonable to me and are about what I run my 215/80/15's at. I never air them down for offroad though due to 1) fear of the tyre coming off the rim as I've seen a fair few others do it 2) to prevent mud getting into the bead 3) Historically I've needed every bit of ground clearance I can get and 4) The most relevant reason - I'm Lazy!!!!!!

We run at about 20 psi on the road- not the best for fuel consumption but it sticks to the road and is predictable, you might find 25psi is a bit bouncy, rule of thumb is to let air out until side walls are just bulging as tyre flattens. Watch out for tramlining on main roads used by trucks when it is very wet.
