can the vacuum hubs be permanently locked ?? was created by robs5230
as vacuum operated hubs are so much of an issue and finding manual hubs so difficult does anyone know if the normal auto hubs can be physically locked by stripping and setting the collar in the lock position and disconnecting the vac pipes ??
not sure whether i read this on here or the trooper forum ( the trooper suffers exactly the same issues with the auto hubs ).
having permanently locked hubs will be no problem as it is not a daily driver.
thanks rob

take cover off them activate hub, finger, screwdriver it just slots in no bother
get short piece of tube with either a bolt in the end or just tie a knot in it and remove vac hose an fit short piece
some old sj`s ran with engaged hub`s with no drag or extra fatigue
done it to 2 previous jimny`s with no adverse problem`s

this is sounding good. what do you do about the vac pipes from the car to the hubs ? and can the connections on the hub be joined with a short piece ?
