thanks for all the input. i'm very lucky ! only about 10mm to drill through. i'll get the drills and coolant this weekend.
gonna order the brackets too.

actually about 25mm to drill. done today with a dewalt extreme 2 hss-g 12mm bit after piloting with the same in a 6mm. used a hi torque drill on a slow speed and used old engine oil as coolant every 10 seconds dipping in.
start to finish 1 hour.
ready for the other side to break now then i'll drill out and fit the relocation brackets.
all smiles now , happy days
