broken rear shock bolt - done was created by robs5230
the chap i am buying my jimny from has just phoned to say it has a broken rear shock bolt that he found on checking it over before i collect. it is a lower bolt.
how big an issue is this and whats the way to go about sorting it. the car isnt far away and i can get it home without issues , just need to know how to sort it.
any help appreciated thanks , rob

Best thing to do is to grind the bolt flush, centre punch the centre, drill all the way through with a good quality drill bit, (NOT THE B&Q RUBBISH) Then use a long bolt all the way through with a nyloc nut. Do this both sides as if it is to shear in the future its a simple knock it out job to replace.

The brackets will take the stress out of the lower bush if you have a lift, they also add an extra 1.5" length to the shock.

they can be hard to drill , if you can weld weld a nut or bar onto what is left and just unscrew it .
