hello again, all went to plan with the stripdown, battery off, fuse box carrier off, drew position of pipes as suggested (great tip), valve block carrier off, withdrew metal clips holding connectors on, valve block off, Easy peasy. Putting 12v across top solenoid i could hear it click, same across bottom solenoid, no click.Cracked it says i, squirt of WD, try again, 30 times, and it started clicking, Great result says i again. Rebuild all, start her up, move stick to FWD, big click from hubs, double cracked it says i again. But trying again and again the hubs would not click in or out.............So, i stripped block out again, made solenoid click dozens of times and put it all back. Still no clicking from hubs and ive lost the steady green light. So i summise i need another valve block, i`ll place an ad on the correct page. Thanks again for all the tips, i can now remove the valve block in about 10 mins.

I'd have another go with the oil (GT-85 is a lot better than WD40 IMHO)

There is a flow diagram in the manual, but if the disengage solenoid valve leaks vacuum the hubs will never pull in. You might have got yours stuck in the wrong position.

If you attach a piece of tubing you can suck (probably not a good idea with all the WD40) or blow gently into the ports to check it is working.

To re -iterate

No power: the vacuum connection is sealed, the other two ports join together. (so air can get to the other side of the vacuum hub and push it over when you apply vacuum to one side)

Power applied: the vacuum connection joins only to the middle port (that goes to the hub) Not sure if the vent port seals or not, it doesn't matter as long as it doesn't get connected to the vacuum.

There is also a vacuum switch attached to the pipes on the valve block that activates the green light.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

thanks again, I do suspect the valve is not seating correctly and losing vacuum, hence the switch for green light is not activating, i think trying a different block will at least confirm/deny this . Someone out there will have a redundant valve block,--hopefully.
