engine cut out and wont start again

It could be the crank sensor, there will be no spark activated or the fuel pump relay won't power up if there's no crank sensor signal.

I would be looking at the crank position sensor too as it would likely run, albeit badly or there would be an immobiliser light on.

Ideally you want the codes read.
