Jimny to many RPM on highway - Higher gear ratio

My Jimny sits on 120kph in the Territory for months at a time, one would never get anywhere otherwise. When I go to Adelaide every month (800kms each way), the Jimny sits on 110kph towing a teardrop caravan. Without those revs I couldn't do it. Would have to pull over to let a line of cars go past me.
Accept what you have, ignore the revs or put a picture over the tacho so you can't see the revs

Keep the oil up to the car, change every 5000 kms. Put decent platinum spark plugs in and change the air filter/oil filter when you change the oil and you will have no problems.
I've been driving mine for 11 years with no hassles and only 2 parts broken down in all those years.

By the time you've paid for an electrically operated transfer box and worked out a way to make it work in a car it wasn't intended to go in, you could have bought a car that had one from the factory! It would likely have Variable timing also, which may save on some fuel.
The first motorway journey I had a Jimny was in an early single cam hard top model and my thoughts were not too diferent to yours, but these cars were not designed to sit at speed for long but the engines are designed to be able to rev like that.
Bigger tyres will not aid fuel consumption anyway as it will take more effort and thus fuel to get up to speed and you will miss the acceleration you have now - not that it is that impressive in the first case.
So I would just accept what you have and make the most of it.
Also, you do need those revs to keep it in the powerband up hills on motorways!
