Jimny bits 3inch lift was created by HiJim
G,day
i just received my jimnybits 3 inch lift for my 1999 jimny and will be installing it myself in the next few days.
i also wanted to say how quickly and amazingly cheap i received this package and rus even through in an air filter, oil filter and brake lines. Extremely stoked with that!
Anyway, seen as im not a 4x4 mastermind i dont really know exactly what im doing but im fairly good with that and tools and have some fairly good intuition. I was just wondering if anyone has some tips for me for this install. Maybe some ways they would have done things if they could do it again, or any problems they ran into?
thanks in advance and ill be sure to get some pics up when its installed!

Fitting a 2"or 3" lift.
If you got a set of longer brake hoses fit them first.
Next (WD40)all the nuts and bolts on the shocks for about 2 days before starting.
Start with the back axle, undo the wheel nuts a little, then jack up on the chassis on both sides and lower on to axle stands as near to the radius arms as possible , so the tyres are about 2" off the ground, now remove the wheels.
Next place the trolley jack in the middle of the axle, jack it up so you can remove the nuts+bolts from the shocks.
Next lower axle down and remove the old springs+shocks, you might need a mate to help you fit the new springs+shocks back on, or a length of wood to lever the axle down to get the new springs on.
Now do the the front the same way as the back.
When your finished CHECK all the nuts +bolts+ wheel nuts are tight.
Hope this is helps.

I have some instructions for fitting a rough country steering damper from jimnybits if you need some help. Just PM me your e-mail and I can send it to you.

what i had done was: bolt the extending arm bit to the chassis, pull the shock fully out, make sure the wheels are straight, measure the travel of the shock and half it, then put the shock down to the half way mark then put your bracket on the steering arm and bolt it on.
then full lock the wheels and make sure nothing bottoms out each way
