No 4WD was created by 4wheelers
Went off for a bit of a trek in the mud today only to end up needing a tow. I found that when I selected 4wd high or low the front wheels had no drive at all! When I got home and cleaned up I jacked up the front end on stands and proceeded to select 4wd and then 2wd. Both hubs are making a clicking sound as though they are changing state but are not locking in. While doing these checks I noticed a lot of play in the drivers side wheel. Considering I only changed the king pin bearings quite recently on both sides I can only assume that the wheel bearing is RS. Has anyone had this problem before? Could the RS wheel bearing be causing the non 4wd? I am open for suggestions.

Although the hubs are clicking they are not fully engaging, you can verify this by taking them off and manually engaging them, see this article on how to do this...

Once you have established this then go to here to fix it...

And when you are thoroughly cheesed off with fixing it them buy some of these!

AS for the wheel bearing. Rock the wheel and get someone to press the brakes. If the rocking goes then its a wheel bearing if the rocking continues then there is something wrong with your Kingpin Bearing change
