When I lift the bonnet on my 02 Jimny, at the front left hand corner.(in front of the air cleaner). There is a rubber 90deg elbowpoking out into engine bay.

That's strange. It is not connected to anything in the engine bay. Will have to investigate further.
Thanks Guys.

Its not supposed to be connected to anything in the bay. It goes into the wing and has arrows on it for summer or winter positioning like the old carb motors. You put it forward for summer to get a flow of cool air and back towards the airbox for winter to draw in warmer air just as carb'd cars have a feed off the fanimold for warm air in winter.

Not sure on your age but old motors used to have the same, you would undo a wing nut on some and it had the directions pressed into the top of the air box and you would do the same sort of thing for the time of year

Black Jimny's don't get stuck!

Mymotor is 02 plate. So is is open in the engine bay, then it goes through the inner wing and is connected via pipework to the air cleaner.Yes it sort of makes sense.
At least these engines don't have the dreaded EGR valve. That Inever could get my head round.
