dual battery setup was created by FIRSTJIMNY
Does anyone have a dual battery setup on their Jimny?
If so, where did you mount the batteries?
Could you possibly post a picture of your setup?
Thanks

Hi, I've got a Numax at the other side, made a tray and had to do a wee bit of panel beating to get it to clear the bonnet.

Wired it up to the other one with a fat 400A relay with a switch on the dash so I can jump start if the main battery is flat and let me charge both in parallel which I've never got to work, the fan belt just slips. maybe i need to invest in a split charge system or maybe it's just cos the two batteries are not identical.

If you're putting 2 batteries together they ought to be the same size and type and I wouldn't worry too much about a split charge system, just connect them.

I say this as I have one big Numax used heavily many times over with no worries about going flat on a standard alternator, so 2 will be fine negating the need for a split charge.

Also see Martins blog comments about the wiring and the light feed not being used.
