I emailed that company earlier Gary - the EU regs mean that they can't sell them anymore! So its gonna be a case of getting one made. Totally agree that our trucks are overlooked when it comes to making them suitable to the work they're capable of.

As for my lights - I'm a bit of a geek  when i comes to them -

www.emergencyequipmentshop.co.uk/minixtr...ga-bright-p-485.html - Pricey but worth their weight in gold

Why stick to just amber when you can have dual?! My truck has -
blue/ amber flashers
wig wag headlight flashers
siren
variety of visor signs

Why you may ask? Well....... my previous job allowed me to use these as it was a big private estate and I often used my vehicle for works use - Security, escorting of E.V's to R.V.Ps when called out, etc, and now as I work at the local college teaching countryside management and estate management - it forms a very useful prop, when showing students the various options to modify vehicles when it comes being a ranger, etc and the regs regarding them.

Everybodys amazed that the fuzz haven't pulled me for it, but how they're wired in prevents (usually mates) from activating them - Hidden switches ;) Plus a little understanding of the regs goes a long way when fitting them.

Once my big house move has taken place - i'll upload a few vids showing the mods, but wiring the lights in along with the sockets for my twin mag flasher was childs play, plus i think i've done a fairly tidy job.

But the next set of light mods will have to wait until the bumper situation is sorted! Work collegue thinks that butchering a new stainless steel a bar will cost more than butchering a SJ bull bar, so the plan is to trawl the scrappys and hope for the best and in the mean time, once located back in stoke - find a friendly fabricator who's willing to build what i'm after using the SJ bullbar as a starting point

Hi, after smashing the front bumper on the Jimny fording some pretty frozen streams over Salisbury Plain this winter, I am also getting a new Bar fabricated.

My Plan is to get a single bar to sit infront of the standard bumper, but to give frontal protection across the full width of the front bumper (slash cut at the ends). I also want to beable to mount a front bash Plate to it that wraps under the bumper to the lower front mounting points, and to offer a full height "A" assembly that leans slightly forward to give better protection to any spot lights mounted on it.

I have been quoted around £300 from initial conversations with some fabricators, but If I can buy a Landover one for £260 and modify it to fit ..

I was looking for something like this .. scalled down to Jimny size
www.firstfour.co.uk/p0/discovery-i/227977.htm

I will knock that out for a Jimny for £160 unpainted.

Where abouts are you located Brian? - I'm in Wiltshire till the end of the month then relocating back to Stoke (moving in the olds to stash some cash) but will be up and down to Wiltshire on a regular basis. Local to either would be a bobby dazzler, but i'm quite happy to travel to collect :-)
