Kingpins and wheel bearings done, still leaking. was created by pb thrasher
Hi all,
need a bit of input on this one,i replaced the usual suspect bearings and seals when the back of the steering knuckle oiled up......still leaking, i thought i might have damaged the new axle oil seal so replaced it again ......still leaking. I,m wondering now could it be the kingpins themselves, any ideas would be gratefully accepted.
The motor doesn't do any heavy offroading, the halfshaft looked ok but didn't over inspect it.
Thanks.

^ as above, there is not meant to be any oil in the axle ball, the oil seal on the half shaft is what keeps to oil in the axle... if you have oil in the steering ball, it's that seal that'd poop'd...
The rubber and felt only keep the grease in, and the crud out...

As in my post thought i had damaged the new seal i had fitted as when it was reassembled it still leaked so i stripped it down again and replaced with another seal, still got the leak!

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Wheelbearing gone?
The plain bush bearing that the CV runs in worn out through running with the hubs locked?

Had this problem on mine and the axle casing was slightly bent on one side so although I changed the seal it still leaked. I bought a secondhand casing and that too was bent so in the end I bought a new one from Suzuki. Expensive so I hope you don't have the same poblem.
