Rear Diff bearings was created by supergaz
Hi
I've a knocking noise and excessive play from my rear axle flange, it is also leaking oil.
So the bearing has gone.
Is this an easy fix, and where can I get this part from?

I am not shy with the spanners as I am an engineer, but I have not yet played around with diffs yet.
I was planning on removing the diff as I will be fitting a lockrite, so was hoping to kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

Thanks.

You will need a pair of unbelievably expensive bearings, a new oil seal and a crush spacer from between the bearings.
It would probably be better to swap the differential as the crownwheel and pinion will wear excessively with shot bearings and become noisy when you have replaced them back to spe

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)

Thanks for that, better save up now for a new diff, was hoping to just change the pinion seal and bearing.

Ask CAM Suzuki for a price on a second hand diff or keep an eye on ebay. I've seen them for about £75.

Thanks Guys. Going to have to wait a while before I can buy a diff. I got a great price from KAP as I was passing today, so will be popping in once I get some cash together as I have spent up on another big toy this month. ;-) She wont be happy if I go spending more! and I cant hide it as she works at the bank.
